A lady has filed civil lawsuits towards Neil Gaiman and his ex-wife within the US, accusing the British writer of sexually assaulting her.
The lawsuits towards Gaiman and Amanda Palmer have been filed in Wisconsin, Massachusetts and New York.
The girl alleges the previous couple violated legal guidelines on federal human trafficking, with complaints of assault, battery and inflicting emotional misery towards Gaiman and negligence towards Palmer. She is in search of a minimum of $7m (£5.6m) in damages.
Gaiman, 64, whose books Good Omens, American Gods and The Sandman have been tailored for tv, has denied allegations of sexual misconduct made by eight girls.
He stated he has “by no means engaged in non-consensual sexual exercise with anybody. Ever”.
The lawsuits declare the lady was befriended by Palmer when she was 22 and homeless in New Zealand and commenced working for the couple, which is when the assaults started.
In line with the lawsuits, Palmer instructed the lady there had been earlier complaints from greater than a dozen completely different girls.
5 girls, 4 of whom have been amongst eight featured in a New York Journal article in January, made allegations concerning the author in a Tortoise Media podcast sequence printed in summer time 2024.
Gaiman has denied the entire allegations made towards him, posting on his weblog, on 14 January: “I’ve stayed quiet till now, each out of respect for the individuals who have been sharing their tales and out of a want not to attract much more consideration to quite a lot of misinformation.
“As I learn by means of this newest assortment of accounts, there are moments I half-recognise and moments I do not, descriptions of issues that occurred sitting beside issues that emphatically didn’t occur.”
He acknowledged that he was “careless with individuals’s hearts and emotions” and will have “achieved so a lot better”, however stated he doesn’t “settle for there was any abuse”.
