Sacramento – ACLU California Motion and the ACLUs of Northern California, Southern California, and San Diego & Imperial Counties are ready to satisfy the Trump administration head on. David Trujillo, govt director of the ACLU California Motion, responded to the reelection of Donald Trump with the next:
“Via the hateful rhetoric and dangerous actions of the earlier Trump administration, they’ve made their intentions clear.
“We have now diligently ready for this end result and stay resolute in our protection of California values by defending immigrant households, defending the precise to protest, decreasing incarceration, criminalization, and police abuse, bolstering sources for unhoused folks, and guaranteeing equal rights for the LGBTQ+ group.
“Our advocates have labored to create a roadmap for shielding civil rights and civil liberties on this end result. It should take all the pieces we have got to combat again, and we’re prepared.
“We name on all folks – particularly our state officers and legislators – to work with us in constructing a firewall for freedom that may shield and advance the security and wellbeing of all Californians.”
