Bharat Biotech’s corona vaccine- Covaxin also has side effects. The Economic Times has written this quoting a research published in the science journal Springerlink. According to research, side effects of Covaxin were seen in about one-third of the people who participated in the study conducted at Banaras Hindu University (BHU).
Respiratory infections, blood clotting and skin related diseases were seen in the people participating in the study. Researchers found that teenagers, especially those suffering from any allergy, are at risk from Covaxin.
However, a few days ago, Bharat Biotech, the company manufacturing Covaxin, had said that the vaccine made by them is safe. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also administered two doses of Covaxin.
The study revealed 3 problems caused by the vaccine…
1. Respiratory infections are increasing among people.
Shankha Shubhra Chakraborty, who conducted the study, said, “We collected data of people who had been vaccinated for a year. The study was conducted on 1,024 people. Of these, 635 teenagers and 291 adults were included.”
According to the study, upper respiratory tract infections were seen in 304 (47.9%) adolescents and 124 (42.6%) adults. Due to this, problems like cold and cough were seen in people.
2. Skin related diseases were seen
The study found that skin diseases (10.5%), nervous system disorders (4.7%) and general disorders (10.2%) were seen among the teenagers who participated in the study. At the same time, general disorders (8.9%), disorders related to muscles and bones (5.8%) and disorders related to the nervous system (5.5%) were seen in adults.
3. Guillain berry syndrome (GBS) may also occur
In a study on the side effects of Covaxin, menstrual abnormalities (irregular periods) were observed in 4.6% of adolescent girls. Eye abnormalities (2.7%) and hypothyroidism (0.6%) were also seen in participants. At the same time, stroke was also identified in 0.3% participants and Guillain Berry Syndrome (GBS) was also identified in 0.1% participants.
What is Gullian Berry Syndrome?
Guillain Berry Syndrome (GBS) is a disease that, like paralysis, gradually disables large parts of the body. According to the US National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), Guillain Berry Syndrome (GBS) is a rare neurological disease.
The report also said that the teenagers and female adults participating in the study who had any previous allergies and who got typhoid after vaccination were at higher risk.
Bharat Biotech had said – No case of any disease was reported due to Covaxin.
On May 2, the company had said that the safety of Covaxin was evaluated by the country’s Health Ministry. From the time Covaxin was manufactured till its administration, its safety was monitored continuously. All the studies and safety follow-up activities related to the trial of Covaxin have revealed an excellent safety record of Covaxin. So far, no case of any disease like blood clotting, thrombocytopenia, TTS, VITT, pericarditis, myocarditis has been reported in connection with Covaxin.

Controversy regarding Covishield
There is a controversy going on regarding Covishield that in some cases, its application can cause thrombosis thrombocytopenia syndrome i.e. TTS. Due to this disease, blood clots form in the body and the number of platelets falls. Serious problems like stroke and heart beat failure can occur.
Actually, the first corona vaccine in India is Covishield. It has been made by Serum Institute of Pune. The Covishield formula is derived from British pharma company AstraZeneca. AstraZeneca has now admitted in a British court that their vaccine has serious side effects.
